Physician Bios


Georgia D. Montouris, MD

Kevan Epes VanLandingham, MD, PhDGeorgia D. Montouris, MD, is Assistant Professor of Neurology at the Boston University School of Medicine. She is also the co-director of the Boston Medical Center Epilepsy Care Program for Children and Adults.

Dr. Montouris earned her MD at the University of Brussels Medical School in Belgium. She completed her internship and residency in neurology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

Dr. Montouris’ research interests are primarily concentrated in neurology and women’s health. She has authored and presented more than 90 articles, abstracts, book chapters and briefs on these and related topics. Her articles are published in Epilepsia, Neurology and Epilepsy & Behavior, among others. She is a member of the American Epilepsy Association, the American Academy of Neurology, the Tennessee Association of Neurology and the Southern Clinical Association.

 

Kevan Epes VanLandingham, MD, PhD

Kevan Epes VanLandingham, MD, PhDKevan E. VanLandingham, MD, PhD, is Associate Clinical Professor of Neurology and Attending Physician at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC. Dr. VanLandingham is also a Staff Physician at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Durham, NC.

Dr. VanLandingham earned his PhD in biomedical engineering and MD at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. He completed his internship in internal medicine at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI, and his residency in neurology at University of Virginia Hospitals. His fellowships in clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy were conducted at the University of Michigan Hospitals.

Dr. VanLandingham's research interests are primarily concentrated in neurology and neurophysiology. He has authored or coauthored more than 50 articles, abstracts, book chapters and briefs on these and related topics. His articles are published in Epilepsia, Neurology, Seizure and Epilepsy Research, among others. He is a member of the American Epilepsy Society, the American Academy of Neurology, the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

 

R. Eugene Ramsay, MD

R. Eugene Ramsay, MD is Professor of Neurology and Psychiatry and Director of the International Center for Epilepsy at the University of Miami School of Medicine; Staff Neurologist and Director of Clinical Neurophysiology Laboratory at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center; and Director, EEG Laboratory, Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL.

Dr. Ramsay earned his MD at the University of Florida in Gainsville, FL. He completed his internship in the Department of Surgery at Shands Teaching Hospital, University of Florida, and also did a clinical fellowship in neurology at the University of Florida's Shands Teaching Hospital. His fellowship in epilepsy and electroencephalography was conducted in the Department of Neurology at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Gainesville.

A respected leader in his field, Dr. Ramsay has over 25 years of experience as a professor of neurology. He has authored and coauthored more than 250 articles, abstracts, book chapters, and invited lectures concerning neurology and epilepsy. His articles are published in Neurology, Epilepsia, Epilepsy Research, and Annals of Neurology among others. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Electroencephalographic Society, the American Epilepsy Society, the Epilepsy Foundation of Florida, the Epilepsy Foundation of America, the Southern Clinical Neurological Society, the Southern Electroencephalographic Society and the American Neurological Association. Dr. Ramsay is the recipient of numerous honors and awards and was listed in The Best Doctors in America for four years in a row.

 

David J. Adams, MD

David J. Adams, MDDavid J. Adams, MD, is a clinical professor of neurology at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He is also an assistant neurologist at New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.

Dr. Adams earned his MD at Columbia P& S. He completed his internship at the University of Washington in Seattle, and his residency in neurology at the Neurological Institute of New York.

Dr. Adams’ research interests are primarily concentrated in epilepsy and patients with uncontrolled seizures. He has authored and presented numerous articles, abstracts, book chapters and briefs on this and related topics. His articles are published in Neurology and Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry, among others. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the New Jersey Neurologic Society and the American Medical Association.
